Rippling across the equator for nearly 5000km, Indonesia encompasses more than 17,000 islands.
This nine week African Road Trip from Cape Town to Mozambique is positioned in peak swell season, and the perfect way to see all that the Southern African East Coast has to offer. Regardless of whether you're a seasoned surfer, or just getting into it, the winter swells and off-shores are sure to provide you with the best possible waves to take your surfing to the next level.
The coastline from Cape Town up to Mozambique has hundreds of surf spots, from the ultimate right pointbreak Supertubes in Jeffreys Bay, to numerous other lesser-known but still world-class waves. As the trip gets ever closer to Mozambique, the waves become wilder, and that's when we jump in the 4*4’s for an all-out surf-searching adventure.

What to expect?
On this trip the main focus is surfing! July through to August is the best time for swell in South Africa, as there are big groundswells that march up the coast. You'll get coached by some of South Africa’s best coaches, including two national coaches, ensuring that your surfing continuously improves on the trip. The coaches use both in-water and beach coaching, as well as photo and video analysis.
This trip is not exclusive to surfers with experience, as you'll always be coached to your ability thanks to our deep pool of resources in South Africa. The range of perspectives you get from the different coaches will help to ensure that all aspects of your surfing are covered.
Next Course Dates: 6th July to 7th September 2017

What will the temperature be like this time of year?
Starting in winter and running into spring, South Africa has one of the mildest winters around. Yes, it can get chilly and rain here and there, but generally that means the waves will be cooking, so you'll be in the water anyway! From Durban onwards and into Mozambique it will be warm!
What is the highlight of this trip?
Wow, there will be so many! It's prime swell season at this time of year with good winds, so you will get some world-class surf! There are so many highlights, from the activities you will do, the community work you'll get involved with, to the friends you'll make and the travellers you'll meet along the way.
