Rippling across the equator for nearly 5000km, Indonesia encompasses more than 17,000 islands.
The Canary Islands are known as the European Hawaii. A name the islands truly deserve, because during the European autumn and winter seasons the beaches and reefs on Fuerteventura provide excellent surfing conditions for every type of surfer from beginner to advanced. The Morro Jable apartments offer an affordable accommodation and fantastic surf packages to an international crowd. Get away from the crowds and surf Southern Fuerteventura and discover plenty of unspoilt spots.
In the little fishing village with it's the narrow alleys and along the vivid beach promenade you can experience authentic Spanish cuisine in cosy seafood restaurants and traditional tapas bars. You will be accommodated in neat and cosy apartments, which are situated next to each other.
On the wide terrace and the various balconies - with an amazing view on Morro Jable, the beaches of Jandia and the Atlantic Ocean - you can enjoy the evening.
At breakfast you will enjoy fresh baguettes, cereals, juices and cafe con leche at a local Spanish cafe from Monday - Saturdays. This is optional and you can opt to not have this on your package. Please enquire for these prices.
There are plenty of tasty options to experience and enjoy local restaurants offering traditional mediterranean cuisine and fresh food in a relaxed atmosphere in Morro Jable. We highly recommend the fish, being a local fishing town, you couldn't get fresher! One which is highly recommended, Cafe del Mar with local musicians playing and surf videos. The El Callao has free Wifi, live music and theme evenings. It's the ideal place to end your surfing day toasting and having fun with the rest of our guests!
Also there is a big supermarket and several small grocery stores (many of them open on Sunday).
The North coast tends to get all the attention and media coverage however the south is the secret beauty and offers waves for everyone of all skills. A small 1ft swell with a big period travelling all the way from the Souther Atlantic can result in some nice over head clean waves on the South side of the island.
You won't be wave starved on this holiday. La Pared on the west coast is a powerful beach break which attracts most swell. There are also some great waves at the local beach Cruz Roja.
The best time to be here is up from September - April but beginners will feel comfortable all year around. And you will never need more than a 3/2mm wetsuit which is a massive bonus!
The surf courses starts every day from Monday to Saturday, between 8 and 14 o'clock depending on the tides. The surf lessons are 4 & 1/2 hours per day, including transfers to the beach by 4WD to the beach/surf spot with best wind and wave conditions for the surf level of the group. Lessons include video analysis to help surfers progress with their surfing. Surf lessons have a maximum of 6-8 surfers per instructor.
The apartments are situated next to each other, so it's perfect if you are travelling with groups of friends/families or solo travellers where you can meet fellow surfers.
You will find the surf apartments located only 2 minutes by foot from the sea overlooking the town of Morro Jable. Each apartment has a bathroom, with shower and toilet, Satellite TV and a kitchen. The apartments' capacity are up to 4 people. Some have balconies but not all, so please enquire for an updated price.
The surf school's office is within walking distance (2 mins max) with free Wifi, where you can rent beach cruiser bikes, skateboards, indo boards and surfboards.
By bike it's less than 10 minutes along the picturesque beach promenade from Morro Jable to Jandia. On the wide beach from Jandia are often good, medium size waves to practise surfing. If you want more out of your time in Morro Jable, why not have an extra surf theory lesson, beach BBQS, yoga lessons or a Spanish class?
