Rippling across the equator for nearly 5000km, Indonesia encompasses more than 17,000 islands.
Are you prepared to take your surfing to the next level? Our four week island-hopping adventure truly encompasses all that is Ticket to Ride. Enjoy the full Indonesian experience by seeing three different islands and improve your surfing with professional tuition, in some of the most perfect waves in the World, all complimented by surf specific yoga classes.
Expect an island experience like no other, combining three totally different islands and types of waves into one amazing trip. Indonesia’s reputation of phenomenal waves precedes itself and with four weeks of top coaching from your Trip Leaders you will grow in confidence to take on the different style of waves the islands have to offer. As we're mostly out on boats, a lot of the coaching will be done from the water, but there will also be time back on land where photo and video analysis will come into play. All our surf instructors hold internationally recognised qualifications and are there to ensure overall progression, as well as your safety in the water. The Trip Leaders will go out of their way to ensure that you receive the best coaching in the best possible conditions to ensure you reach your surfing potential.
Next trip: 01/05/2018 - 29/05/2018
1) Canggu, Bali: At this first stop you will stay at Echoland which is an amazing bed and breakfast just 250m from the beach and nearest surf spot.
2) Lombok: You will stay at Gerupuk which has an amazing pool overlooking the ocean. From the doorstep you hop onto little boats to head out to one of the rippable surf spots in the area, living life to the fullest.
3) Nusa Lembongan: Nusa really is paradise and staying at our great accommodation right on the beach you can choose from the array of spots which one looks best given the tide, swell and wind.
Food is not included in the cost of the trip however food and drink is very cheap in Indonesia and £10 to £15 per day will be sufficient for 3 meals.
The most amazing thing about surfing in Indonesia is how perfect the waves are, which means you really get to try the same thing over and over again until you get it right. Also being dropped off on a boat means the paddle out is easy and you get to catch more waves using less effort in a shorter space of time. It really is a surfing paradise.
We surf every type of wave imagineable, usually in their most perfect form, regardless if it is reef, beach break, rock or point break.
In Bali we surf a mix of beach breaks, deep reef breaks, wedges and shallower reef breaks (for those who are ready). This gives a great opportunity to gain experience and to feed off the knowledge of your instructors who will guide you through every step of the way.
In Lombok and Nusa Lembongan we progress riders onto reef breaks. Some are easy and soft whilst others are shallower and sharper, and once again you will only surf the spots that are most appropriate for you and move up to the more challenging spots when you are ready for it.
Week 1 - Welcome to Indo - On arrival in Denpasar airport you will be greeted by your Trip Leader and taken to the surf camp for the welcome beachfront barbecue.
In your first week you will have surf lessons twice a day to get to know the waves and receive appropriate coaching to your current skill level. As well as this we will go white water rafting and explore the volcanic countryside and mountains.
Week 2 - Push your surfing to new heights - The group will venture further afield and surf many of the different waves that Bali has on offer. In between surfs you will also climb a volcano, visit the Uluwatu monkey temple and purchase yourself a new surfboard at a great price (if needed).
Week 3 - Focusing on your technique - You will fly over to Lombok with your Trip Leaders, where we will visit the small fishing village of Gerupuk and hit early morning surfs and explore surf breaks by boat. This week will focus on your surfing technique and we'll use photo and video analysis to help you improve.
Week 4 - Progress in Nusa Lembongan - A fun ferry ride takes you to Nusa Lembongan island, where you'll consolidate all that you've learnt so far to pave the way for your surfing future. In between surfs you can snorkel in the lagoon in front of the accommodation. The last night will be spent in Kuta (Bali) where we will enjoy a farewell meal, drinks and then walk to our nearby air-conditioned rooms. On the final day it's time to head to the airport, tanned, surfed out and stoked!
White Water Rafting Enjoy the beautiful scenery whilst having fun travelling down the rapids.
Volcano Hike Most islands are volcanic, and Bali has several volcanoes on it. An early morning hike will take us to the top to watch the sun come up from what feels like the top of the world.
Snorkelling with Manta Rays You'll go on a calm day when there isn’t much swell, to see these incredible creatures in all their splendour.
1) Can I drink the tap water? No, we recommend you buy bottled water only.
2) Will the waves be too difficult for me? There are loads of different types of waves to suit everyone's needs, so don't fret!
3) Do I need to worry about Malaria? These islands tend to be low to no risk areas of Indonesia. However, we recommend checking the latest government advice on Fit For Travel and consulting your GP before you leave.
