If you want to surf then stay with us-if you don’t want to surf then stay with us! Our mix and match service means that if you are travelling in a couple, group or family, everyone can get the holiday they want.
For the beginner, intermediate and advanced surfer alike, we have the know-how and the facilities to make your trip one in a million. Combined with individual accommodation right on the beach, our small size means we can adapt to your needs and desires, providing a special and unique experience. Groups can book out the whole place, having a real holiday home-from-home. Forget small rooms and dodgy showers, our cabanas are spacious, cool, beautiful and right opposite the surf.
We are based in a large bay that picks up most swell directions. The bay has numerous beach breaks so no danger from rocks, reef or crowds. This also means it is safe for swimming and younger guests. We have an offshore reef that we reach by one of our boats for empty waves. Being a fishing family of surfers we really know the local conditions and can help you go to the best spots at the best time, by boat or road. We are surrounded by a wealth of different breaks from fast, hollow reefs to more mellow rides perfect for improving your technique, all within easy reach using one of our local guides if required.
For the non-surfer or for those who want to mix surfing with other activities, stay on a B&B basis. Add on tuition or indulge in some cooking lessons, project work, boat tours or excursions to the amazing sights to be found in our region (see Activities below).
A traditional fishing village, our town offers lots of things to see and do; visit the food markets and see local craftspeople making jewellery and lace. Just outside the village you can explore paddy lands, temples and coconut groves, go diving or simply explore our amazing coastline.
Respect for the environment and the local community are central to our ethos. Our site is eco-friendly and at least 10% of our profits each month go to our tsunami regeneration projects. We believe our business can help others and by staying with us you are helping too.
The Accommodation
The beautiful cabanas are handcrafted by the local carpenters made with sustainable mango wood. Each cabana has something very special about it. Sympathetically designed to make the most of sea breezes, all have traditional carvings and huge shuttered front walls to allow constant air flow. Rooms are en-suite and 3 of the 4 have open-air bathrooms for showers under the stars. All have a private balcony or seating area and one has its own separate living area. Our cabanas are extremely spacious, giving you plenty of room to relax. They all have generous 6ft wide four-poster beds, however single beds can easily be added for sharers or to make a triple/family room.
Acitvities
It's not just surfing here, although we have the knowledge to make your surf trip one in a million. As we are a fishing family we have a variety of boats to take you on an amazing trip: fishing, whale and dolphin watching, wakeboarding and snorkelling or sunset trips around the bay. Catch some fish and BBQ on an open fire as the sunsets. PADI scuba diving is located at the other end of the bay and you can see traditional stilt fishermen along the coast. Out of the bay there are countless beautiful places to visit from breathtaking beaches, ancient fort towns, temples, coconut groves, snake farms, paddy lands to bustling towns, traditional markets, yoga retreats and ayeurveidc spas. Whatever you want to do, we can help you do as much, or as little as you like.

Wherever you go in Sri Lanka you will be welcomed by some of the friendliest people in the world. Another great thing about a trip here is that it holds so much variety in such a small island. Having 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites, from sacred cities, palaces and cliff-top citadels to colonial strongholds, tea hills, waterfalls, white water rafting, mountain biking and further north kite-surfing, there truly is something for everyone. The east coast also boasts world famous surf spot Arugum Bay and the northeast of the island is virgin territory for the more adventurous traveler. After years of civil war a new peaceful era has reigned since 2009 so there has never been a better time to visit this island, rich in natural beauty and cultural splendors.
The rest of the southern region is well within reach for the next step of your journey, a short excursion or even day trips. Apart from hundreds of kilometers of beautiful palm-fringed beaches there is a wealth of places to visit, explore and discover. The Sinharaja, Sri Lanka's tropical rain forest, is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and is one of the few virgin forests left in the world. Streams, springs, rivers, waterfalls, leopard, monkeys, butterflies and moths, rare trees, valuable shrubs and medicinal herbs are all found within its green canopy. Trekking provides nature lovers with a never to be forgotten experience of sights and sounds. Yala National Park in the south-east hosts a range of ecosystems, from moist monsoon forests to freshwater and marine wetlands. The park is best known for its huge variety of wild animals and the conservation of Sri Lankan Elephants and aquatic birds. Sri Lanka is the cradle of the Buddhist faith and a visit to the sacred Adam's Peak is an unforgettable spiritual experience.
