Introduction to Surf and Yoga camp

The camp is located next to the Obidos Lagoon on the Silver Coast in the Estremadura region of Portugal which is one hour drive from Lisbon airport. The camp is between 10-20min drive to the major surf spots in the region.

The picture postcard medieval town of Obidos is close by which has been well-preserved to with monuments, narrow winding streets and white-washed houses with windows and terraces full of flowers. There are a number of local cafes and restaurants close to the camp.

The accommodation is an eco-campsite offering ‘glam-camping’ in tipis and canvas tents. This offers guests a true ‘back to nature’ camping experience, but with the luxury of real beds and hot showers. This is important after a hard days surfing.

Food and Drink

Breakfast of fresh bread delivered daily, fresh fruit and cereal is included in the price of accommodation. Lunch and dinner are available on request. We offer healthy meals from local produce including regular BBQs of fresh fish and meat.

Surfing at Surf and Yoga camp

We have a resident local teacher, Katrin who offers yoga twice a day (morning and late afternoon). Katrin also offers Ayurvedic massage. we also offer kitesurfing, horseriding, canoeing, mountain biking, hiking in the mountains, caving, windsurfing, paragliding, golf.

Widely recognised as the best and most consistent surf sport in Portugal, the peninsula of Peniche, with both a north and south-facing coastline, always has optimum surfing conditions regardless of the swell and wind direction. You will always find a spot where the wind is blowing offshore creating perfect shaped waves. Within a 15 Km stretch of coastline, you will find more than 20 spots for every type of surfer, ranging from beginner to expert level.
