Introduction to Surf Camp - Peniche

Imagine waking up everyday to perfect surf conditions. This is a reality in Peniche. Our surf camp is within walking distance from all the waves in the peninsula of Peniche and is located in Casais do Baleal. Baleal is a small island, 5 minutes driving from Peniche and 1 hour from Lisbon.

Around our surf base, you can find a mix of long sandy bays and a couple of reef breaks. There are also bars and cafés on the beach where you can watch the sunset or party at night. The many restaurants, markets, surf shops and bakeries will accommodate your everyday needs, and the traditionally Portuguese town of Peniche is only a short drive away.

Our surf camp in Peniche is divided into smaller apartments. Each apartment has either two or three rooms, a toilet and kitchen where you can cook your meals. Some rooms take two people, others take four. If you don't wish to share it is possible to pay a single supplement . Each apartment has its own TV and DVD. The surf camp base has a good a wireless connection to the internet. You also have a little shop within the building where you can buy essential equipment for surfing, and of course a little holiday present. We have a patio outside for you to lay and relax, have a chat about the surf, enjoy the sunshine. You can also buy fresh fish and cook up a BBQ.

If you stay with us on the surf school package breakfast is not included - however the surf camp in Peniche has a great kitchen for everyone to use. Plenty of shops, bars, cafes and bakeries around the local area.

Surfing at Surf Camp - Peniche

Widely recognised as the best and most consistent surf sport in Portugal, the peninsula of Peniche, with both a north and south-facing coastline, always has optimum surfing conditions regardless of the swell and wind direction. You will always find a spot where the wind is blowing offshore creating perfect shaped waves. Within a 15 Km stretch of coastline, you will find more than 20 spots for every type of surfer, ranging from beginner to expert level.
