For a truly unforgettable experience of a lifetime!! We welcome you to join your hosts Aldo and Sarah at Arrifana Surf Lodge for a more personal surfing experience. We are dedicated to bringing you awesome surf tuition, great food, comfy sleeping quarters, a relaxed atmosphere, and a whole lot of fun!!! We are truly "a home away from home!!
The Arrifana surf camp is perfectly located, a short walk from the long sandy bay of Arrifana. The surf camp consists of bunk style, twin or double rooms, perfect for a group and couples. If you are on your own, it is a great place to meet new friends. The surf camp also has two huge terraces with beautiful views of the Algarve coast where breakfast and dinner are served, every day. The house inside is well equipped with all the mod cons and has a spacious lounge area and kitchen. South West Portugal is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
With miles upon miles of empty beaches, it is a great place for long walks, mountain biking, quad biking and paragliding. Relaxing activities like yoga and pilates sit well in this location, and can be arranged through us.
Food and Drink
All the food served at Arrifana Surf Lodge is homemade using the freshest ingredients possible!! We know how hungry surfers can get after a long day spent on the beach and in the waves so we always offer a three course meal 5 nights a week with the option of dining out at some great local restaurants the other two nights. Guests have the option of also using the kitchen facilities at the lodge during nights where no meals are served.
Breakfast is available every day and includes a selection of cereals, fresh milk, yogurt, fresh bread, jams, honey, fresh fruit & eggs.
Packed lunch is made for guests daily and we provide a choice of over 15 fillings.
Surfing at Surf Camp - Arrifana
The surf that arrives in the large bay of Arrifana is generated out of the North Atlantic Ocean. Arrifana is blessed by having such a big swell window, the bay picks up any swell in the Atlantic and this means that surfing everyday is a common occurrence.
There is surf to suit all standards of surfers along the west coast of Portugal, and those looking for the classic hollow waves will not be disappointed. Those looking for gentle waves will also find these in abundance.
In Arrifana, we offer two surfing options for those looking to hit the surf. The first is our surf school option. Well-structured lessons, designed to get people up and riding from day one. The lessons then become more dynamic and personal with in-water coaching and beach theory lessons. The second is our surf guide option. This is for surfers who have surfed a few times, have their own board and just want to find the best surf on any given day. With so many hidden bays and beaches, there is a lot to explore!
