Review of Atlantic Palace - 5 Star Hotel from 4th July

From start to finish this has been the most memorable hotels of a lifetime. Please read this if you plan to stay here!

As it was our honeymoon I emailed the hotel a week before going to ask if they could arrange some flowers and champagne etc for the room. For free they included a beautiful arrangement of flowers every day for the whole of our trip and upon arrival, when I gave my name in, the guy in the hotel winked and gave me and my new wife some drinks (again for free) to keep us busy for a few minutes while they made some last touches to our suite. Fathima, from reception, showed us to our room after a brief hotel tour to point out where to eat, shop, relax, etc. It was gorgeous.

Youssef on reception was extremely helpful in arranging everything from taxis, dinner reservations, sterling exchange, and called ahead the maitre d of the hotel restaurant to let him know we were coming and to take care of us. My wife and I missed breakfast, as I had forgotten to set my watch, and he arranged a private breakfast of pastries and tea in a side bar for no charge.

Around the pool, the attendants couldn't do enough to keep towels flowing and beds comfortable. Mbrak at the pool bar took excellent care of my wife and I - maybe because we made an effort to speak French while we were there but after half an hour or so he was joking around and making very polite conversation each time we encountered him and his team.

The spa treatments and spa experience were wonderful - extremely relaxing and worth every penny. For the equivalent of about £50 total we were treated to a 30 minute massage, 5-sense treatment room, dip in the indoor pool and then a day’s access to a private Asian garden with a secluded heated pool with futons for a nap out of the raging sun.

The 'Spectacular' in the Taj Mahal restaurant in the hotel on Friday night was an unforgettable experience - Moroccan food with a real variety for professionals and amateurs alike. The dancers and musicians were as good as the food and the waiters to excellent care. Please BEWARE the chilli paste - it is as hot as the burning African sun!
