Macaronis Surf Resort is situated over picturesque Silabu salt water lagoon, just accross the bay from the legendary Macaronis wave. Tidal movement keeps the lagoon clean and cool to swim in, with an abundance of marine life viewable from your villa balcony, and magnificent sunsets that occure over the lagoon at the end of each day.
Macaronis wave is the Mentawais most consistent and perfect wave breaking perfectly in all tides and ridable in almost any wind conditions. It's no wonder it has previously been officially voted the 'funnest wave to surf in the world'.
On this paradise island we highly recommend chilling out around the cocktail bar and large decked area which overlooks the stunning salt water lagoon. The resort offers a dining/entertainment complex with pool tables, table tennis, music and a large screen TV for evening movies.
The resort speedboats include two 12 meter longboats powered by 40 hp and 15 Hp engines that are available for surf transfers to nearby breaks such as Macaronis Left, Macaronis Right, Silabu Left, Green Bush and Bat Cave.
Traditionally carved longboats travel at speeds of 15 - 20 knots. These traditional heavy duty dug-outs have proven to perform exceptionally well in local conditions, and are set up with a sun canopy and comfortable seating arrangements. Also ideal for visiting remote villages up winding rivers and trawling to catch Mahi Mahi, Spanish Mackeral, Coral Trout, Groper and Great Trevally (the GT).
A five meter aluminum dinghy powered by a 15 Hp yamaha engine and several rubber duckies are also used for transferring guests to and from the surrounding breaks and for fishing at nearby Silabu Island.
We also have a recently purchased a 6.8m Aluminum boat that will be ideal for heading around to Green bush, up to Batcave and for fishing trips.

We had a blast, it was a great week (Newquay Surf School) and we've both fallen in love with surfing! We're gonna keep it up and go to Dunbar for more lessons. Vince was a great teacher, please pass on our thanks.
