Hidden in the deepest depths of an evergreen forest is the most often missed, relaxed and almost secret campsite along Frances Atlantic coast, Le Pin Sec. This is where you will find the Errant Surf Tipi Surf Village perfectly situated only 50 meters from the beach and amazing surf. The Tipi Surf Village is the ideal place to stay if you want to surf, party or just relax. Le Pin Sec is based in the Bordeaux region; famously known for its sun, sea, food and amazing wine.

Le Pin Sec Tipi Village offers guided tours of the best spots for more advanced surfers throughout the west coast of France. We also provide daily tuition for beginners and intermediate levels with our highly skilled surf coaches with tuition in English and French.

Le Pin Sec is situated just 25 minutes from Lacanau-Ocean situated on the Cote d’argent it is one of the surfing world’s best kept secrets. It has a great communal feel to the town with plenty of bars, nightclubs, restaurants, surf shops and a thriving street arts and entertainment scene for you to explore.

To ensure that you get great value for money and a chance to enjoy nature's bounty, you will be staying in specially designed tipis, amongst the sand dunes and pine forests only 50 metres from the beach. We have several tipis which sleep four guests in each.

All our accommodation is fitted with real carpets, beds, English plug sockets and a good splash of funky lighting, creating a home from home feeling, once called "Glamping", or glamorous camping. There are also powerful hot showers and loo's on site.

Our very funky Tipi Village is limited to 15 guests to maintain our high standards of service and surf coaching

Food and Drink

All your meals are inclusive during your stay at Le Pin Sec Tipi Village. Breakfast and lunch will be in the typical French style with fresh bread, jam, omelettes, cheese, fruits, salads and sweet and savoury crêpes, served first thing and after the morning surf session. The evening meals will be an altogether different feast back at the camp; every night you will get to experience a different theme from Mexican, Italian to Indian, all washed down with a cold post-surf beers.

There are also a number of bars and restaurants within a short walk, should you choose to eat and drink away from the Tipi Surf Village some nights.

Surfing at The Tipi Village

If you are new to surfing or want to improve then participate in the surf school option with 2 x 1.5hr surf lessons every day from our Surfing GB qualified surf coaches. If you already have the skills just come rip up the amazing breaks our team will take you to. We have carefully selected our preferred breaks to ensure you visit the best and least crowded.

We have the very best learner-specific boards and equipment for all our guests which won't let you down while you take on the waves. We can also supply more advanced boards for the enthusiastic new surfer. Advanced surfers that have left their board at home we have a range of boards long or short to keep you entertained!

Lacanau-Ocean is also host to the WQS SooRuz pro competition where you can see some of the world’s finest up and coming surfers competing for a spot on the ASP World Tour. Former legends of the SooRuz are Kelly Slater, Mark Occhilupo, Andy Irons, Tom Curren and many more.
