Introduction to Surf Hostel - Legian

Our surfers accommodation in Legian is set in a quiet lane-way, just back from Legian Beach, The surf hostel is the perfect base for your stay in town and to learn surfing.

It is less than five minutes walk to the surfschool, the famous Double Six Beach scene, is surrounded by great restaurants, night-clubs and bars, and the shopping district is right on your doorstep.

The hotel itself features bed and breakfast, ten luxurious double rooms, two deluxe dorms, a very cool rooftop garden, an infinity pool, island yoga and pilates studio, in-house massage service, wi-fi internet, travel desk, and of course a super friendly vibe.

 

The Surf hostel in Legian was designed to provide a hotel experience for the independent and budget traveler who wants to chill out, learn surfing, and be in town with restaurants and bars, yet almost at the beach. The rooms are priced in a way that allows people of all budgets and backgrounds to come together under one roof.

We have tried to combine eastern philosophy with western hotel standards to create the perfect base for your start into the Bali surf adventures. In this way we hope to create a place that will help you meet new friends, refresh both body and soul, learn surfing and party on.

The Surf Hostel provides airport pickup, accommodation and breakfast, the surfschool provides the surf lessons for beginners, Bali Surf Retreats provides surf guiding and coaching for advanced surfers. You will be picked up by the surfschool at 09:00 the day you are ready to start surfing. Please let the receptionist know when you would like to start, so we can organize your surfschool pickup. Pickup times for surfguiding and coaching will be announced, as they vary due to tide, wind and swell conditions.

Food and Drink

All rooms feature private en-suites, super comfy mattresses, the freshest white linen sheets, flat screen cable tv, wi-fi internet, an all-time shower and a few surprise treats.

Deluxe Double rooms-These are the best rooms in the house. With a luxurious queen size double, this is the room if you are looking for quality time with your other half, or maybe that someone special you have met along the way.

The Loft Double- A little variation on the Deluxe Double, with a custom built loft bed that features a chill-out couch for some serious island style cruising

The Twin- The same as the other rooms except the beds are separated into two singles so you still get to have the fun without having to climb into bed with your best mate. Not that we care either way. Entirely up to you.

Deluxe Dorm - It is different from what you expect. The dorm features specially designed beds that look to maximise your privacy and comfort, whilst not hurting your budget. Each cocoon style bed features a super comfy mattress, the freshest white linen sheets, a private reading lamp, personal locker and wi-fi internet. Adjacent is a stylish shared bathroom with fantastic showers.

Surfing at Surf Hostel - Legian

The surf sessions which are included in the packages take place Monday to Friday in the mornings. Our location and beach transfers allow sessions on your own in the afternoons and on the weekends, and if you wish, extra sessions can be organized easily. Sunday is off for our coaches, so you might want to enjoy our organized culture trip up to the volcanos, to temples, and through the greenest green you have ever seen: the rice paddies.

We offer guided and coached surf sessions around the diverse breaks of Bali. Groups of different levels and maximum 4 guests go to various spots according to their surf level, tide, swell and wind conditions. Our guides know all spots of Bali and explain you every different break in great detail to make sure you understand the conditions and ride the waves you have been dreaming of.

Our guides are close to you in the water, giving you tips and tricks, trying to push your surfing level. They are there for you, everyone is safe, as they are all surf life savers. The spots we choose match your surf level, so every beginner learns surfing at a beach with gentle waves and sand bottom which is shallow enough to stand. Easy style. The better you surf, the tougher the spots, sure thing. The weekly wave theory class will give you valuable background info such as how waves develop, why they break where, and so on. Even though we aim for a 2:1 ratio (two guests per coach), we also offer private guiding which includes videocoaching. No doubt, this is the fastest way to reach your goals.
