I thought I would drop you a line to say what a fantastic trip we had to Lanzarote last week.
Although the conditions were not ideal as it was very windy with messy surf, the coaching which we had was really high class and both myself and Carol have made some real improvements.
The whole package including coaching, accomodation, taxis etc.. was great and I would reccommend this trip to any budding surfer.
Many thanks. Rachael Martin

Just a quick one to say what a great time we all had in Peniche. Everything was fantastic-the surf, the camp, food, the house and all the people. Everyone loved it, and we all want to go back(if they would let us, I hope that we weren't too much trouble) of course we'll all be in the advanced surf group by then!
Thanks very much for the perfect holiday Abbs and gang xx

14th March 2008

Just back from our surfing holiday in Lanzarote. I wanted to let you know how wonderful it was; the holiday far exceeded our expectations. The feature which really stood out was the quality of the training at the Surf School. I know that I'm probably sounding like an advert but the guy in charge, Tim was fantastic. The man is bursting with enthusiasm for his sport and skilfully encourages and cajoles everyone around him so that they too share his joy.

I took my two teenage children and one of their friends with me and was concerned about the obvious dangers of surfing. As soon as I met Tim and George, his assistant I knew that I didn't need to be worried about our safety. They identified all risks and taught us how to maximise our safety. They had eyes everywhere. Nothing escaped their attention ... which is reassuring when you and your loved ones are bouncing around on a board in the surf.

I'd half expected the teaching to be done on an ad-hoc basis but in fact, the whole process was efficiently planned and organised. Tim reminded me of an all knowing, kind hearted sergeant major. He even spent the lunch breaks giving us surfing related talks.

Something else that surprised me was the cross section of people taking the course. I imagined that there would be nothing but sprightly, blonde, strong, young men. Actually, there was a lovely mix of all ages and sexes: Families, couples and more women than men.

We look forward to visiting Famara again. Many thanks for your website and organising the trip.

I just wanted to drop you a line to relation to my trip with Errant to Tamraght, between the 4th and 11th December (2007), to give you a little feedback and express my gratitude.

Firstly i wanted to thank you and everyone at Errant, this was my first organised surf trip abroard, i was a bit apprehensive as i was going alone, but i needn't have worried... I had an absolutely fantastic time. It was everything and more that i could have wanted, with good company, great surf, warm weather and warm(ish) waters!

The accomodation was a lovely building, the food was great and the hosts really looked after us with their bright smiles and friendly welcomes.

Anyway the surf was banging (thanks for organising that for me!), the weather was great, I never saw a cloud all week. The guides were brilliant, Indy, in particular was a great guy, encouraging us to get into waves, finding us some good surf, generally a great surf guide that enhanced the trip massively. I also particularly liked the international nature of the guests, it was nice to get away from the 'brits on tour' thing.

Anyway i have 2 weeks leave lined up for a trip at about the same time this year, and suffice to say i would gladly come back to yourselves and recommend you to friends!

Take care and keep up the good work,
Kurt

Just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks for a great weekend. The course and the tuition were excellent, and the whole thing was great fun, which makes it even better. Many thanks for your time and patience, hopefully see you on the water down there soon.

We very much enjoyed Peniche, especially with Ricardo's expert tuition, and the Portuguese surf comp in which Ricardo got a very impressive 13th place out of aprox. 110+ competing. I also won the surf camps end of week competition in small surf on my wife's mal using what you taught me to get a couple of nose rides.

Hi , many thanks for the long board at the weekend. Thought the sessions on turning were really useful. Something for me to practice, every time in the surf from now on. Both sessions on nutrition and Board design and build with Will were very interesting. Not an area I have been involved with before.

Just to let you know were back in the UK! The trip to Somo was fantastic. Thank You so much for putting it all together for us. We had a really great time and Damian looked after both Will and I really well. Who said, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks?” Well, Damian taught me loads, lots to work on for my winter trips to Polz in the coming months. He’s such a nice guy too, totally encouraging. Will got on with him great too. He’s not the sportiest lad (apart from football), but gave his best in the Somo Surf, and learned loads and gained masses of confidence in the water. The Hotel Torres was superb, and the staff were nice and friendly and took a real shine to Will, despite us putting dripping wetsuits over our balcony railing…which was above the main entrance to the Hotel!! (I thought that’s what balcony railings were for!!) We also went down to the Picos and stayed in the hills above Potes, what an incredible place! The mountain vistas are totally breathtaking, and we had perfect weather while we were there, so now have some great photos too! Your new surf hotel (La Hosteria) in Spain sounds great too, so keep in touch about the hotel/surf school thing because I’d love to go back. Anyway, I hate long emails… so just to say again.

Thanks for your help in sorting the trip.  A great time was had by all and the Villas and surf instruction were 1st class. The fact that England beat France to make it to the Wold Cup Final topped off an excellent weekend.

Many Thanks

Just wanted to say a quick belated 'thank you' for the fab weekend at Watergate Bay we had at the start of the month. As first-timers, we had an absolute ball and loved ever minute. Thanks especially to Wayne and Marco for their instuction- you really made it a great experience for us and can't wait to hit the surf again asap :)

Cheers once again, and hope to see you again soon for more surfing escapades!

Just thought I'd drop you a quick note to say thanks for all the help you gave us sorting out our week in Santander. We had an awesome week, great location and Damian and Jesse were fantastic, really welcoming and friendly and excellent coaching, made all the more apparent when we saw some of the other coaches further down the beach (large groups of students who seemed to spend most of the time talking about stuff on the beach instead of getting in the water.)

My 14-year-old daughter and I spent the first week of July 2007 in Loredo, Northern Spain. During that week we attended the Errant surfing school. The experience was great. As two first time surfers we needed to grasp the basics of technique and safety. Damian provided those with well-considered expert instruction. We could not have asked for a better teacher, or location for that matter.

When I travel I like to sidestep regular life and drop into something different. Very Spanish Loredo with Damian’s surfing lessons was exactly what I hoped for. In fact, it was better than I hoped for.

I do suggest that anyone undertaking surfing get themselves into reasonably good physical condition and take along a little determination. Surfing requires a bit of work and patience. Regardless of your results though, there are worse places to spend a couple of hours than splashing around in a warm ocean on a beautiful sandy beach.

I might also suggest a decent Spanish phrase book so you can truly enjoy the experience.

All the best and thanks to Damian, Jesse and little Millie (and Wayway).

Just would like to say thanks to Chris for a crackling lesson last Monday. I have since bought my own wetsuit and was practicing everyday surfing, I was a lot more confident and standing up was not a problem. Hopefully one day I will go on an Errant holiday and surf abroad!

Four friends and I travelled down to Newquay last weekend for a weekend of surfing, and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Brae! He took us on the Saturday and was a great tutor, always so encouraging, and enthusiastic, even when some of us were at times completely useless! He was incredibly vigilant, and all of us trusted him completely to keep us safe. Cheers! You were 'Wooo, Awesome!'

From Sandra, Mark, Graham, Jonathan and Karen.

Just wanted to say that we all had a brilliant time in our lesson on thursday, despite the fact we could hardly move the next day!! We will definitely recommend you to our friends.

Finally I got away from the endless rain in the UK and enjoyed a wonderful week in Portugal. I can't believe that after such a short flight the sun was out and the surf was perfect. Thank you for breaking the humdrum and arranging my surfing holiday! All the best

2nd July 2007

Just a quick note to say many thanks for all your help in organising our Fuerteventura trip for us (again)! The surf was great, lots of swell the first week, 6'+ barrels, and a little smaller the second - nice and mellow for the older blokes amongst us. Look forward to next year's adventure!

26th June 2007

I just wanted to say thank you to you and your team in North Spain. I had visited Bilbao in the 2005 and was not impressed with the over development and the crowded surf. However, thanks to your advice, my self and the family found ourselves in one of the most stunning parts of Europe, the village of Loredo near Santander. Thanks once again, for such a great trip.

12th June 2007

A belated thank you for looking after me ten days ago. I had such a fantastic time. I had been very apprehensive about surfing, as I didn’t think I’d be able to flop onto the board, let alone stand – so I’m still feeling very pleased with my dual foothold (before hitting the waves!). I have sincerely caught the surfing fever and cannot wait to come down for a full week in August.

Fiona Eldridge - London

31st May 2007

Had such a great time last weekend at Watergate with Bre teaching us. Thanks it was fab! Due to come down in a week or so again so hope to keep it up!

Just to say a big thanks for helping us organise our recent trip to North Spain - we had a wicked time and Damian + Jess are absolutely awesome hosts and instructors. I can't sing their praises enough. They made us feel totally at home and Damian was a fantastic instructor with a great way of teaching and he has certainly given us a massive appetite for continuing our quest to surf!

I will do my utmost to spread the word to anyone looking to go on a surf trip should do with Errant.

Jim Storey - London

23rd May 2007

Thank you for such a seamless surfing holiday. As you know, myself and my children enrolled onto your surf school in North Spain. The service we received from the staff at the hotel Costa Mar, and Damain was flawless. Looking forward to fine tuning our surfing skills at Watergate Bay this summer. Thanks again.

Alex Brent - Chorley

Just returned from the Algarve Errant surf trip! Absolutely brilliant in every way. The accommodation was fantastic and the guides could not do enough to help you, from cooking your meals to transporting you to every place you wanted to go. If your considering this trip, trust me its a must! Thanks to the guys in portugal for all your efforts!

Joe Hindley, Warrington

8th May 2007

Having just returned from North Spain, I just wanted to add my two pence. The service and advice I received prior to departure was brilliant. This was nothing compared to how hard Damian looked after us once we had arrived. His coaching was precise but not overwhelming. The culture was fantastic and the food gorgeous. My only negative point would be that our one week stay was simply not enough!

Hi Guys just wanted to say I’ve used other ‘specialist’ vacation companies and it’s a lot more re-assuring booking through somebody who’s actually been to those places and surfed those breaks. Thanks for sorting out my trip to Barbados.

Hi, I would like to let you know myself and my wife had a fantastic time in Portugal with Errant. The food was wonderful and the staff we meet in Portugal and the staff we dealt with in the UK where great, very friendly and very professional. Looking forward to our first trip to Morocco in October.

Hi there Chris and Etienne,   I wanted to thank you a bunch for what was an amazing holiday...I now officially have the surf bug and am missing the ocean thoroughly back in rainy Berlin.   Chris just so you know that the accommodation, location and course was fantastic for me, more than met my expectations and I will definitely be recommending Errant to friends in the future.   Etienne thanks so much for the superb coaching, advice on the board and fun, I will definitely be returning back to Jeffery's Bay I really loved the whole place.    Cheers again and all the best,

6th February 2007

Just a quick note to say we had a great time at the (Tamraght) surf camp last week. The surf was good ( solid 8-10 foot on Wednesday!) and as you mentioned Fatima's cooking is awesome. So all in all it was really good break for us. The challenge is now to beat the post holiday blues......I have a serious case! Anyway thanks for all your help getting us sorted, if I am able to I will be in touch for another trip in future for sure.....

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for an utterly amazing trip surfing. Tim is  a wonderful instructor and we are all totally hooked!   Thanks so much for being so flexible with my last minute booking - I am so grateful.

Cheryl Sims

11th January 2007

I just wanted to email you to say a HUGE THANK YOU for the most amazing surfing holiday! We got back home at 3am this morning and I am still buzzing from the surfing. Myself, Cheryl and Luke are totally hooked and already planning our next trip!   I was so impressed by Tim and Jo's coaching standard and it was worth every penny. Thank you for your recommendation to go to Lanzarote, for being so flexible with Luke only coming for 3 days and for organising Cheryl's trip one day in advance of departure. You have a GLOWING recommendation from us to anyone wanting to learn to surf.   No doubt I will be in touch in the future to organise other trips!

Some feedback from taking families to Maroc –

The apartment worked out well having the enclosed area meant we could let Isaac (1 and a 1/2) loose without too much stress, though there’s a small cupboard door that leads to under the stairs that he managed to find and disappear into which caused a panic for a minute as he had magically disappeared, the little monkey!  The lower apartment meant we had less steps down to the surf.

Most of the time we ended up going to surf the other side of banana village (two’s or 12’s?) near the royal surf club, the girls like the beach, the guys I was with liked the fact that you could surf the left off the rocks or the beach break, I wasn’t complaining as it’s a left and I’m goofy.  Surf was ride-able there most days with a few head high days with the odd overhead set coming though on the last day.

I managed to catch one the biggest sets of the day the morning we flew back.  I saw the set early and started paddling out pretty sharpish, I didn’t fancy getting caught inside on my Longboard.  It was soon apparent that I wasn’t going to make it through though but managed to duck dive the board using the technique from the coaching course to get the board through the wave under the falling lip – I couldn’t believe it when it popped out the other side!  I carried on charging for the outside over another wave then spun around, the rest off the pack had been wiped out bodies and boards getting washed all over the place, the last wave in the set came through I figured it was time to go for it, but it was a little bigger still than the others and I had a fairly chunky drop to make not ideal on a Longboard, but the juice was flowing and I made it, probably not the most stylish but it set me up for a nice bottom turn that generated lots of power.  I then picked my way down the wave turning high on the shoulder and cranking the board back down into another bottom turn avoiding all the bodies that were still clawing for the safety of the channel.  I over cooked it a little out to the shoulder as the wave straightened up for section, but with all the speed I generated I turned the board back towards the foam and just trimmed the board with a shuffle and a cross step!  I ended up on the nose as the wave started jacking up again as it headed into the shore break.  Another shuffle and cross step and I was at the back of the board cranking yet another bottom turn into a steep walled up section.  I drove the board rising up and down the wave leading with my hands, then as the next section began to close out I turned un-weighted and managed a little floater on top of the foam, it didn’t really get me far but it was a nice way to finish and avoided a pounding on the beach.  It just all came together on that one - all the coaching points and it was played out in slow time as I rode, I was definitely in the zone.

Still got lots to improve on, my right turns aren’t full enough or generating enough speed, particularly noticeable on bottom turns on rights, but luckily they were good enough to get through that wave, it gets better and better every time I think about it!

Nicky enjoyed getting some winter sun, everyone was really impressed with the weather, and it was great spending time with Isaac and still getting some surf in.  Taking a 16 month old away certainly has its challenges but generally everyone in Morocco was great, and a blond haired blue eyed boy certainly draws attention, even the stern faced gun toting security guards at the Airport would come over and tickle his chin trying to get a laugh out of him we certainly weren’t going to have any problems through customs and immigration.  It did take us ages to get round the supermarket though all the women had to stop and kiss him and some of the men too!

Errant organised Headworx’ surf fashion shoot to Barbados in November 2006.  Chris and his team were fantastic to work with, as every detail was taken care of.  Transfers, accommodation, car hire, a great location and Zed – the friendliest surf guide you could hope for!  Zed was a legend, looking after us as if we were lifelong friends and letting us in on the true Barbadian surf lifestyle.  With his laid-back style and genuine hospitality the surf trip vibe was immediately found and that translated into some great photography.

We went to Barbados expecting great surf shots and some interesting locations for our lifestyle photography and we weren’t disappointed.  The surf was great when we arrived and our team riders were frothing on the 6ft swell.  Although the conditions weren’t A1 for the whole week, Soup Bowls delivered great waves even when the onshores kicked in and the swell dropped.  Zed showed us where to surf and when so we maximised every opportunity to get the action shots we needed.  And when we needed those picture perfect beach scenes we only had to drive a little way to stumble across yet another gem.  Wherever we went the ultimate tropical look or the quirky rustic scene were easy to capture on camera.

Working with Errant was one less thing to worry about – Chris was very honest about what to expect from the trip so every detail exceeded our expectations.  Our budgets were modest so Chris didn’t pretend that we would be staying in a 5* resort.  Instead Coral House was good, comfortable and clean accommodation in a beautiful setting, close to the south coast spots and to night-time entertainment.  There is a great little beach bar out front serving tasty food and cold, cold beers.  Perfect after a long day chasing shots in the Caribbean sun.

Headworx would like to thank Chris, Zed and everyone at Errant for making the trip a genuine and thoroughly enjoyable trip.  We can’t wait to go away for our next shoot and we know that the warm and happy vibe we experienced has helped to bring our fashion photographs and surf shots to life.  Keep up the good work guys!

I just felt I HAD to take a few minutes out to give you feedback of my trip for 5 days to Lanzarote last week. ABSOLUTE FIRST CLASS.
Tim: - Bang on time when I arrived, very welcoming and has INCREDIBLE knowledge about what surfing is all about from anything to the different types of boards, their make up, to the waves, surfing in general - incredibly informative but not in a boring way! Also took it upon himself to book me a return taxi and ring me to ensure that it had arrived. Jo and Dan - All I can say is that I hope that you look after them, as they are top quality. Not only do they work together well, but also they are incredibly knowledgeable for people so young. They MADE the trip and were extremely helpful every day as well as a good laugh. They have the patience of saints and, despite the fact that I was having trouble getting up , they were always helpful, polite and GREAT fun to be with and persevered with me to get me on a solid board within 3 days and got me up and running. Right down to the fact that you tailored my 5-day break down the last thing, I cannot fault you and your company on the very high standard of everything regarding my mini break. Add to that very competitive prices and it was a WINNER! Ten out of Ten - I will definitely use you guys again and will tell all my mates of your company too. A fantastic break - well played to all of you!

Just a short note to say thanks for a weekend.   Given our limited surfing experience, we were both slightly apprehensive. The round the table intro left us even more concerned, as we seemed to be amongst some fairly serious surfers. It proved not to be a problem.   The mix of theory and practice was great, your teaching and tips excellent and we both felt we came away more confident in what we were trying to do.   We hope to see you again next year and I may ask for a little of your time in trying to get my other son, Toby up to speed.   Look forward to the photos.   Thanks again and regards

Our last trip to Barbados was superb. Hot sunny days and super warm water. "Freights" was clean and 2 to 3 feet for the whole trip with turtles in the line up. I highly recommend Zed, excellent location, accommodation and people. I am already planning my return trip. Let me know about the dates in May as I have got some good prices on flights!

Just returned from my trip to Morocco. The trip was excellent and Ben and Ollie were great hosts. We had surf the whole 2 weeks ranging from 3ft to well overhead with plenty of glassy sessions.
Food and accom was very convenient too.

Thanks for a great teaching weekend (longboard coaching). I really enjoyed it and got a lot from it. There has been a lot of interest from friends who are now jealous that I know how to cross step, all be it only in theory, but they dont need to know that! Hope future courses go just as well. Just wanted to say thanks to Errant for providing an excellent surf holiday in Northern spain.
The trip to Santander was exactly what I needed to progress my surfing - I've only been surfing 6+
months, but this experience has helped me progress and gain valuable confidence. What's the best thing about the trip? I'd have to say there's two things and that is the surf coach and the location.

Damian did a top job at providing advice when it was needed on technique, equipment and safety. The
location is excellent, easy walking distance to the beach and the beaches, and there are many, all are long and clean. If you are looking for somewhere to chill and work on your surfing then you can't miss this opportunity. And just to top it all, your in Spain, it's warm and a pleasure to be in the water!

The town centre of Santander is a short distance away by bus and provides some traditional Spanish tappas or if you need some retail therapy, there's plenty of shopping options - and they stay open late!

Thank you for going the extra mile, I truly appreciate it.
A very satisfied customer.

Your company is to be commended. Using Errant, we left Spain totally satisfied. We were able to do more than we anticipated. Errant made our trip exceed our already high expectations. Our lessons as well as the local guides made us feel that it was not a job for them, but rather that we were friends being shown their great beaches for the first time. Everything was well organized and the coaching was fantastic. The trip easily rated 5 stars.

We Just wanted to say thank you sooooooooo much for the surfing lesson (Newquay), it was amazing!  In the morning we were all dreading it, and most of us were too scared to eat breakfast, but as soon as the lesson started everyone said they didn't feel worried anymore and that it was loads of fun and a great challenge. We had loads planned to do this holiday that we had arranged months ago,  but after monday's surf lesson we just wanted to go back to Watergate bay every day and that was the only beach we went on all week!  So we ended up surfing Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and we had an amazing time. However! The girls were NOT happy as in the lesson you did fail to tell us that when we went shopping the next day we would be in so much pain we would be walking like penguins and not be able to see the price of clothes on the top shelf because our arms would hurt so much! But we got used to it!  Some people mastered it, and others didn't as much, but on the coach on the way back we decided that Monday was voted the best day of the holiday because of how great the lesson was.  So thank you so much for making our holiday the best and we WILL see you next year! Please say thanks to Chris Zinon for us too!!

From my point of view of trying to give my son Rob a "special" present it could not have been better. From first contact with yourself, the info on your website and now the outturn I would recommend your company to anyone wishing similar for their kids, or themselves. The email on the day prior to his departure was certainly much appreciated (by my wife as much as anyone).  If you require a reference from a satisfied client please feel fee to contact me.

6th June 2006

Thank you for organising the surf lessons and for suggesting a fantastic B&B! We had an excellent long weekend (1st - 4th June)! Please could you forward this email, or pass on our thanks to Chris, our instructor, for his superb tuition, encouragement and sense of humour. Due to being a little nervous of the sea, I was expecting not to enjoy it as much as Paul, but I can honestly say that I loved it (despite demonstrating very little emerging talent!) and that Paul and I hope to visit again in the summer and have a few more lessons.

Hi Chris,

Hope this finds you well. I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and the other Chris for your time and patience with us on Saturday and Sunday (coaching at Watergate Bay). Tim & I had an amazing couple of lessons with you guys and are now pretty hooked! Thanks again, we’ll be booking more lessons with you in July!

Loved it (surf holiday to North Spain), I would be happy to recommend you guys.  You said you would get me
away and you did - thanks a million.  Better service than other surf tour operators I have travelled with before,  the personal service is priceless.   I don't think anyone who went to Loredo with Errant would be disappointed.

It was my second time surfing with Errant (UK) and it was probably better the second time.  The waves were good most days and it was nice to surf on some unbroken waves as I am only a beginner.  Very enjoyable sessions.  Thanks again,

This is our second time on the waves with Chris and this time it was even better than the first. He is really friendly, a great teacher and an amazing surfer when you get on the waves with him. Also give our regards to Josh for the pictures, they arrived home before us!

Aloha, thank you for a magnifcaint time in the Peniche. Fernando is a top bloke and the various surf spots in such a short walk are unreal. Everything went so smooth, I shall be in touch again, soon!

Great surf, friendly instruction, good company and good food. Couldn't ask for anything more. Thanks and see you next time. (Fuerteventura)

Thanks for a great weekend.  I felt the balance between theory and practice was just right and the coaching tips given to the individual surfer spot on.  The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and I would recommend the course to any longboarder wanting to improve.  I am looking forward to my next surfing trip (to Morocco with Errant Surf) to put it all into practice again.  Thanks again

Thanks for a great weekend! I did the last longboard course in 2005 as you know, and just went along this year because a couple of mates were apprehensive. You had taken all comments from last year and completely returned the content perfectly! My friends both exceeded what I thought they would achieve, and I learnt much more myself. It won't get much better than this!! All the very best!

The ERRANT longboard coaching weekend at Watergate Bay was exceptional value and fun. Laid back, good company, good feedback and that my surfing had come on significantly but also similarly challenged to improve further. The chance to try out different boards and check out your suitability for them was very useful for me.  Much enjoyed throughout. The bargain long board was particularly sweet and will give me lots of future fun!

I can strongly recommend the Pro-Coaching Weekend for any intermediate/strong intermediate surfer that’s serious about pushing his/her surfing to the next level. Over the weekend Chris did a superb job, breaking down the essential manoeuvres: bottom turn, cutback, floaters etc.  into their core components. I reckon I’ll be using this knowledge as a solid foundation for my surfing for years!

I would like to thank you guys for arranging such a fantastic holiday in Barbados for me. The surf holiday was great fun - my surfing has come on leaps and bounds. Beautiful scenery, great waves and 25 degrees in the water - what more can a girl ask for, thanks Chris for all the help in sorting out my trip!

Just got back from Maroc, Fantastic! Brilliant country and chilled out and very friendly surf scene. Our trip coincided with that huge swell so the waves were unbelievable everyday. I will definitely use Errant again and can't wait to get back to those point breaks.   Cheers Chris for all your help.

Firstly a BIG thank you to all the staff in Morocco, whom all made me feel very welcome and part of the team.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my delight at the in-depth knowledge of the UK team which enabled me to get the most out of my limited time away.

Hi Guy's, Fuerte was sick!!!!! The guy's were real funny, slight sun burn but that's my fault!

My tip is to check out Corkers bar in town, it will make you re-think how shots should be served

Thanks again
